Contemporary trifold brochure

The project brief.

The design brief was to create a DL sized promotional brochure to be used as marketing collateral for the Australian Ballet’s production of Cinderella. The design must use a duo-tone colour scheme as well as include the 2 provided images.


The solution.

The challenge of this project was to create a contemporary brochure that fit the existing brand identity of the Australian Ballet Company, which has a strong emphasis on contrast and simplicity, whilst eliciting recognisable themes of ‘Cinderella’ to entice viewers to see the ballet.

Applying elements of layering and opacity, I created continuity in design and story across each panel, ensuring an engaging and visually appealing promotional piece.




A duo-tone colour palette of a deep purple-blue and salmon-red was chosen to create a sense of elegance and sophistication, whilst also linking the scheme to concepts of royalty in the blue/purple tints and femininity in the salmon-red at lighter tints.

Minimalistic sans serifs were chosen to keep in line with the contemporary and modern tone of voice of the brand while adding an elegant and soft touch to the brochure design.

Additionally, a 160GSM silk paper stock was elected for printing to help create a polished and professional feel that exudes class and luxury, ensuring that sensory touch would improve the intended experience that consumers would have when interacting with the promotional brochure.
